A TREK THRU BOWNESS...

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2011 – The day after 9/11None of us shall ever forget no matter how may years go by…

On Saturday, (9/10), after a light lunch of Butler’s Blackstick Blue cheese (the orangy looking stuff with blue streaks), cherry tomatoes and yellow pepper chunks on crackers (yum!):

We walked past a church and huge cemetery:

To the side of Windemere:

Then an old antique Rolls Royce passed by and pulled into dockside—out steps a bride and groom with a “brolly” of course!)

On into Bowness to Geoff’s “hangout” (owned by one of his friends), Stagshead (yes, Geoff is in this picture):

Then a walk through town up and down narrow roads, returning to The Hole in the Wall, circa 1612 for a drink (a very cool place with interesting things throughout—like old crockery chamber pots hanging from the beams, old signs, pictures, etc.):

Then off to have wine and pizza at Villa Positiano:  (great wine and food!)

Back to the RV and later a little “Eccles cake” for dessert—similar to a “Chorley cake” with a ton of currents inside—lovely!

All for now…will share yesterday’s adventure soon!

Love, Sue & Geoff xo
