Last Thursday, September 29th, was a beautiful Indian Summer day and I got my hair cut in Garstang and then walked down one of the streets and saw:
The sidewalk:
Off the main street of Garstang:
The beautiful small ferns and riny flowers that grow out of the stonewalls:
Me with my latest hair "do" walking the streets of Garstang:
Beautiful hot pink hydrangeas growing in the town church yard—never have seen any this dark color:
Then Geoff took me around a corner and down a couple streets to the Lancaster Canal and “Th’ Owd Tithe Barn” (old time tithes would be like 1 pence for each calf, 10 pence for each cow, etc., paid to the lord of the land) that has narrowboats tied up to the dock next to it…just beautiful:
Then we went inside to look at the low ceilings in one part:
The signage on the loo:
We had a drink and sat outside and enjoyed the waning sun and scenery by the canal basin:
I got to ride in Geoff’s “boogie bus”:
We got back to Geoff’s place in time to see the sun setting behind the trees (sheep in the paddock in front):
Then, since Friday, September 30th, was another beautiful sunny day so Geoff took me a couple miles away to the village of Scorton to have coffee and see “The Barn”:
The road to Scorton:
The actual barn converted into a garden center/restaurant/café & gift shop—gorgeous and fun to look:
Afterwards, Geoff took me down the road and we had a picnic lunch at a pretty place:
Some of the lanes are really quite narrow and these are NOT driveways:
That’s the end of the sunset and the end of my blog for now…this is a boring week for scenery so probably no new post for a while…but watch this space!
Love, Geoff & Sue xo

I am compiling these along the way:
