Into downtown Clitheroe, a pretty town (they had a food festival recently so still had flags criss-crossing the streets):

Clitheroe is famous for their Cowman sausages,

They also have a famous wine shop “D. Byrne & Son” that has tons of wines from all over the world:
Then back out of the city to country lanes and villages:
Pendle Hill area--well known around here for the Witches of Pendle trials in the 1600s--10 were hung for witchcraft--these days it is popular around Halloween to walk the hill in the night sky:
The road winding up the hillside in the distance is the “Nick of Pendle”:
We wound our way around, up and over the Nick of Pendle:
The bridge to Ribchester (rebuilt after a flood in 1770):
