HAVE YOU SEEN THESE 2? THEY ARE WANTED BY SUE & GEOFF!

THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 2011 – Christchurch Rop 10 Holiday Park – Papenui – We had a delayed flight from Sydney yesterday but the flight was one of the best I have been on…I highly recommend Emirates Airlines—individual TV screens with current movies, tv shows, music from 979 to present, opera, etc., etc., a nice clean blanket and pillow and then there was the free meal---real silverware and they gave us a menu to decide which entrée we wanted. Steak with nicely sautéed veggies and real mash potatoes, a roll and butter, crackers and cheese, a tune/potato type salad, individual water (later got wine, beer, juice, coffee and tea) and then a lovely dessert (a sort of cheesecake with lemon and raspberry sauce) followed by a square of chocolate!!!! The flight attendants were very pretty, too. No child from hell sitting near us—she went on a flight to Fiji at the gate next to ours in Sydney AND my bag made it from Sydney---YAY! Geoff was a bit stressed about missing the closing time for the campervan but he called as soon as we landed and they stayed open for us and others on the flight. It took forever to get through Customs (New Zeaand is one of the strictest countries!) Caught the shuttle and breezed through the campervan place. Our little love bug is named “Ruby” this time! Here she is:
Picked up a few provisions and headed to the Top 10. By the time we ate (just ramen noodles after that huge meal on the plane), unpacked and arranged stuff in the campervan we were beat. Hit the sack and slept until after 9 AM. We decided to just stay here another day.
· Went shopping at the local mall and found some of the things I wanted for the campervan…a couple rugs, wine glasses, and avocadoes for tonight’s dinner courtesy of Chef Geoff! and Sacred Hill, Hawkes Bay Chardonnay!!
· After dinner we went to see the free movie (Inception) and neither of use could get into the movie and kept nodding off so left and finished the bottle of wine and some peanuts…now to bed and off to Kaikoura (north of here) since the weather is better that direction. We hope to catch some of the jazz festival in Nelson on Sunday and see a couple who Geoff has known for a number of years who live in the area. More later, of course…love, Sue & Geoff xo
